De-comment

The possibility to comment anything openly on this site has been turned off. It’s not a technical flaw, or one of character. It is that way on purpose. Once upon a time, when web publishing was restricted to a few technically able individuals, no one dreamed of commenting anothers work openly. Nowadays, we call whatever published to the internet “blogging”. A key ingredient of this is being able to comment anothers work. I think the term blog is deameaning and debases attempts at writing serious material.

Commenting is certainly a necessary part of any blog, but then again this is not a blog. It is a notebook. And how would you like me to write in yours?
